ArteMIA is a journey of discovery and accessibility to cultural heritage and places of culture, focusing on works of art preserved in various museums in the Umbria region.
The final product of the ArteMIA project is a series of accessible guides (written using the Easy To Read method) to cultural heritage sites, which are distributed free of charge in the museums involved in the project with the aim of making these places inclusive and accessible to people with cognitive disabilities.
The process leading to the creation of the Guides includes art therapy workshops using photography and digital reworking/immersion, as well as activities aimed at developing an accessible museum itinerary.
The aim of ArteMIA is to promote the accessibility of cultural heritage and involve people with cognitive disabilities in a process of collective and creative storytelling aimed at reappropriating spaces, emotions and active participation in the cultural sphere.
The young people of the Locomotiva Cooperativa Sociale and the Cooperativa Sociale Ellelle take us on a tour of Palazzo Trinci, Foligno’s iconic museum and a treasure trove of beauty waiting to be discovered.
